Yes, you can move providers at any time. At the time of enquiry please inform us that you are currently receiving care from another agency.

We offer care and support to many recognised disabilities, the elderly and those requiring palliative care. Please contact us for more information.

Homecare, or Domiciliary care, benefits people by letting you be in control of your care and support within your own home. It helps you maintain your independence in the comfort of your own home, at a reasonable price.

As per Regulation 19 of the CQC’s Fundamental Standards, before any of the staff can start caring in the community they are subjected to an Enhanced DBS check, an extensive induction that covers many training requirements and satisfactory references. We also ensure that all our staff members complete the mandatory Care Certificate within their first 12 weeks of working at Holy Spirit Home Care.

The words “loneliness” and “social isolation” are often used interchangeably, but loneliness is not the same as social isolation. People can be isolated (alone) yet not feel lonely. People can feel lonely and yet be surrounded by people. The difference between these two concepts is important for the design of services and support for older people. At Holy Spirit Home Care all of our Community Care Workers offer person-centred care and support to minimise feeling “lonely”, and with our diverse team, we are sure we can find the right “fit” for you.

We can promote you attending social events, or groups. We also can offer sitting at home and helping you with your hobbies, whether that is completing crosswords or jigsaws, and knitting or sewing.

This list is not extensive but some of the training we offer to ensure quality is; Safeguarding, Infection Control, Moving and Handling, First Aid, Medication Administration, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Diet & Nutrition, Food Safety, Equality & Diversity and The Mental Capacity Act.

Firstly, we want to send our apology, whilst we endeavour to always reach our Service User’s home within 30 minutes of their allocated call time, this is not always possible. Unfortunately on occasion we may be running late and this could be for many reasons, we may have had to cover staff sickness, there may have been an emergency at another service user’s home or there may even been roadworks/traffic. If in the case that your staff member is running late, please contact the office at 01909 489489.

At some point in everyone’s lives, we will need care and support. We can offer support to you during difficult day-today daily living skills after an operation, support to an important appointment and support to important social gatherings.

Whilst all our Carer’s have a positive can-do attitude, there is unfortunately somethings they cannot do because of the law and other regulatory requirements. This list is not extensive, so please contact the office for more details, but some of the things we cannot do are; Climbing up ladders, completing any DIY or gardening, invasive procedures such as suppositories, injections and changing sterile dressings.

In the unfortunate event of you having a fall, we would not be able to help you up because there could be the risk of you having an internal bleed, a spinal injury or a head injury. Instead, we would make you comfortable and contact the emergency services, as they are the only healthcare professionals able to do this.

Holy Spirit Home Care have also introduced live-in community care. Live in care can help short-term, or long-term. Some of the benefits of Live-In Community Carers are:

  • Breaks for your families, so they can go on holiday or if they have any pre-booked operations.
  • Reassurances that you are safe in your home after an important or mobility concerns .
  • All the Community Care Workers at Holy Spirit Home Care are caring and compassionate, ensuring that they are great companions to have in your home.
  • Flexibility for this to be a short term, or long-term option.
  • Ensuring tailor-made support, whilst in the comfort of your own home, without paying costly care home fees.

We are very sorry that you are unhappy with your care and support, but we support you in your decision to raise your concern. NICE guidance defines the ‘end of life’ stage as people with advanced, progressive, incurable conditions; those who’s life may end within 12 months; and those with life-threatening acute conditions. End of life care covers any support and treatment for those nearing death and includes palliative care.

With our exceptionally well-trained and compassionate care workers, we can help liaise with any healthcare professionals to support you, and your loved ones to break down any barriers in communication, keeping you well informed and having the package of care looking exactly how you want it to. We will always promote dignity, respect, and choice when you are being cared by us.
